In 2008 we began a program that we call "Donate One Dollar".
Through the dollar donations we received from families and individuals as a group we provided about 600# of fresh organic food to local food banks.
For 2010 we are starting a new focus with the donation program. Each month we will select a partiicular group to raise funds for. We are open to suggestions from you of groups that you feel could benefit.
July:
For July we will be raising funds for a group called the "Coalition Canning Corps."
This is a group of volunteers working under the umbrella of the Coalition of Churches and Community in North Mason County. This group takes donated foods and cans, freezes and dries foods for people in need. In addition to "having" the food available they have taken the next step and are teaching people how to can, freeze and dehydrate so they can be more self supporting.
If you are interested to support this part of our work and business just let us know when you place your order. We use all donation money to pay for foods at our cost and then deliver them to people in need. Any vegetables that we grow are donated free of cost.
Our ultimate goal is to see people growing more of their own food. But the reality is most people in need do not have access to land for gardening or do not have the knowledge or time to do it.
