This year there are several grades of fruit available. Below is an explanation of the different grades and what you can expect.
WAXF - Washington Extra Fancy -
This grade is used for peaches and is the top grade for fruit. These particular peaches are packed in trays with their own little separation packet. The fruit is very uniform in size, virtually blemish free and ripen all about the same time.
No.1 or #1
This grade is used for cherries, apricots and nectarines and is the top grade for these fruits. As above the fruit is very uniform in size, virtually blemish free and ripens all about the same time.
No.2 or #2
This grading applies to all the different fruits. It signifies fruits that did not meet the top grading standard. These fruits may be a little smaller or larger, slightly blemished, ripen a little further apart and be slightly misshapen. It DOES not mean, cracked, split or rotten. There may be some odd pieces that are not great and that is because the fruit is sorted by people and some things get missed. We stand behind the fruit and if you are not happy just let us know!
Mixed Grade
This is not an actual grade recognized by Washington State. We are using this designation for the apricots, peaches and nectarines we will get later in the season from Tonnemaker Hill Farm. Their fruits are packed in the orchard so there is a combination of fruits and the sizes vary but they are a high percentage of premium fruits. The fruits are not packed with separation units so we are making a slight distinction.
Cherries

Bing - A sweet, red crunchy cherry. Good for fresh eating and holds well. Early to mid season fruit.
Rainier - A sweet and mildly tart yellow cherry with red blush. Thin skinned and yummy.
Van- Used as a pollinator variety these days and was the prior standard. A dark red cherry and some what softer flesh than Bing.
Skeena - A great dark red cherry from Germany. This was my personal favorite. Ripens after Bing and Van.
Sweetheart - The later season sweet red cherry. Not as dark as Bing or Skeena but great fresh and frozen.
Apricots

Aprium Tasty Rich- A cross between and apricot (75%) and plum (25%). Plump, Juicy with a tart sweetness. Eats like an apricot but is a little larger. Good for fresh eating.
Gold Bar - An early season apricot. Good for fresh eating or freezing. It is medium large, golden and juicy with firm flesh.
Rival- This is a little later in the season. It is a great fruit with nice red blushing and great for multiple uses, fresh, canning, freezing.
Tilton- This is a late season fruit. Smaller in size with orange apricot color. Used for jams, drying and fresh eating. Good apricot flavor.
Gold Rich- Almost identical to the Gold Bar. It is in the same family and has the same juicy firm sweetness. Good for fresh eating and freezing.
Peaches and Nectarines
We will have a variety of peaches and nectarines this season. Honestly, there are too many varieties to be able to list and make distinctions here. We will offer both Semi Cling (SC) and Free Stone (FS) varieties.
Typically the Free Stones are used for processing and canning. We eat them all and will have a good selection all season.
